New Lady GaGa

Alright, I'll admit it. I am a Lady GaGa convert. When I first heard of her I was like who is this crazy woman whose song (she only had one out at the time) will drive me to pull all my hair out. But, after a long period of careful observation I have grown to love Lady GaGa. And her business model is on point so she's a winner in my book.

So her newest song (it's like she releases a new one bi-weekly these days, no pun intended), "Reloaded" features mega-producer Rodney Jerkins, aka Darkchild, rapping on the track. What do you think??

When it's oh so quiet.....

So people keep asking me what I've been up to since things were a little quiet for a while. Obviously the move was a big undertaking. I've also been doing a lot of collaborations with people on various projects. Hopefully some of those will turn into serious projects now that I'm in Cali.

One of the collabs I did turned out to be with someone my fraternity brother, Antonio (what up KoolAid!!), introduced me to, dope rapper out of my hometown, MedafORACLE. Now most of you know, I'm not a fan of a lot of today's hip hop. It's what I call "mindless hip hop" or "mother-goose rap" because most of the time it sounds like a nursery rhyme and/or there is absolutely zero lyrical content. So believe me when I say, this dude is NICE! His tracks have more of a classic hip hop feel and his style is very smart.

So we hooked up via the internet (I love technology!) and worked on two songs together. Listen and download 'If We Wasn't Friends" and "I've Come Too Far" below. But seriously, the kid is dope so click the pic to download the whole EP for FREE!

OMG Sade is back!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

It's been almost ten years but Sade is back with a new single, 'Soldier of Love'.  Her album is said to be released February 2010 and I can't wait!!!! What do you think???

Following your dream is not as easy as it sounds....

So, they say the four biggest causes of stress in life are divorce, moving to a new place, changing jobs and death. I think they missed one: following your dreams. I mean when you put your heart and soul into something, the fear of failure is that much more intense, right??

We all have or currently make life decisions based on fear. Personally, I'm sick of it. I'm not going to let any fear dictate what I do or how I live my life. So almost three years ago I started a journey which I'm now going to let you in on (sorry there will be a bit of catching up you will have to do, but you'll get there). I'm not going to give you a long back-story or anything, it'll all fall into place and make sense as I go along. I promise to keep it fairly short (who has time to read long blog entries anyway?) and I'll throw in some non-related interesting stuff to break it up every now and then.

After spending 2.5 years in Boston learning, creating and evolving my music and making a living performing, I've decided to take the next step to get more serious about making a difference in the music industry. Ironically, leaving the warmth and comfort of my former life in Boston to freeze my ass off in the fear of what to do next in Southern California has been scary as hell. I mean making friends as an adult is hard enough as it is. Remember when you were a kid and it was as simple as "hi, wanna play"? Everyone now seems to be concerned with image, who you are, who you know and what you can do for them. I'm all about networking and helping each other out, but that doesn't decide who I will/will not associate myself with.

Yep nervous, lonely and kinda scared in SoCal, kinda loser-ish I know, but I'm not afraid to admit it. And don't act like you've never been there!! At least I looked this fear in the face and decided not to let it hold me back. Fear #1: moving and aggressively pursuing a career in music, a continuous battle but for now, check.
