Anyway in celebration of other writers, I am posting a song I recorded back in Boston for my friend and amazing producer, Mauricio Herszkowitz. A friend of his wrote it, I never actually got her name (so sorry!!) but Mauricio produced it and I was just the vessel. Check it out, let me know what you think!!

Getting back to my roots.....
Lately I've been feeling really blocked creatively. With so much to do all the time and still getting things squared away with our new apartment (we currently have no couch!), I've had very little time to write and when I do it's with the pressure of writing a song. I put this pressure on myself of course, pressure to sound a certain way, pressure to write a certain way, instead of allowing it to be what it is. So I'm getting back to my roots. I originally started as a poet. I love writing period. Sometimes it's poetry, sometimes it's a song, sometimes it's just a rant, whatever it is, I let it be. So I decided to attend this open mic last night at this Cuban restaurant. First of all, the food was AWESOME!!! Azafran Cuban Restaurant in Oceanside, try it!! Anyway, the vibe was very chill and laid back, the people: supportive & responsive. The poets came from every background, all ages, different experiences. It was beautiful, very inspiring. I intend to go back whenever I can and share some things that I've written. So I will return to my "pressure free" writing and let it all flow. It always turns out better that way!!
